Terms of Service

1. What ScreenVow is
ScreenVow is a commitment-device service for iPhone. It works alongside Apple's built-in Screen Time / Content & Privacy Restrictions feature. ScreenVow does not itself block, filter, or monitor any content, app, or website — Apple's Screen Time does that. ScreenVow generates a Screen Time passcode for you, encrypts it, and holds onto it for a period you choose (your "commitment period"), so you cannot casually retrieve it and turn your own restrictions off.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract under the laws that apply to you, and you must own or control the iPhone you set restrictions on. ScreenVow currently supports iPhone only.
3. Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
4. How commitments work
You configure Content & Privacy Restrictions on your own iPhone using Apple's own controls. ScreenVow then generates a random Screen Time passcode, encrypts it, and stores it. You choose a commitment period (currently 30, 180, or 365 days). During that period, the passcode isn't available to you through normal use of the app.
As part of setup, we guide you to decline (skip) Apple's Screen Time passcode recovery option. This is an important, real consequence you should understand before you commit: on a normal iPhone, a forgotten Screen Time passcode can usually be reset through Apple ID account recovery. Declining that option is what makes the commitment meaningful — but it also means that if you never use ScreenVow's own reveal process (see below) and you lose access to your account, changing your Screen Time restrictions on that device may require an extreme measure such as erasing the device, which can result in data loss. You take on this risk voluntarily by choosing to use ScreenVow this way.
After your commitment period ends, you can request to reveal your passcode (subject to a one-hour waiting period before it is shown, so you have time to reconsider), or you can choose to permanently delete it and reconfigure Screen Time yourself. ScreenVow has no admin or support tool that can view or recover your passcode on your behalf.
5. Subscriptions and billing
Your subscription grants access to your ScreenVow account and dashboard, and is billed on a recurring basis (monthly, 6-monthly, or annually, depending on the plan you choose) until you cancel. Your subscription is separate from your commitment: cancelling your subscription stops future billing, but it does not end, pause, or reveal an active commitment early.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or expose passcodes or other data belonging to other users; not to use the service for any unlawful purpose; and not to attempt fraudulent payments or chargebacks in bad faith.
7. Disclaimers
ScreenVow depends on Apple's Screen Time feature and iOS behavior, which Apple controls and may change at any time without notice to us. We don't guarantee that any specific restriction cannot be removed, disabled, or circumvented by you, Apple, or a third party under all circumstances. The service is provided "as is" and "as available."
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScreenVow will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages related to loss of access to your device's Screen Time settings.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of ScreenVow after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ScreenVow operates, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
